Spooky Poem

Spooky Poem

I’m very sorry, I’ve tried to write a spooky poem

But I am scared of creepy things:

Like ghosts, dead souls and grumpy Gollum

And anything that is not a bird, but has wings

If I watch or read something gloomy

My pupils triple in size and it stinks

That I get loony, glum and moody

When I only get 2 out of my 40 winks

I like my sleep and friendly elves

Who help with laundry and assembling shelves

So I ditched my scary verse and instead

I wrote this apology then went to bed

P.S. You can also watch and hear me read this poem at the Virtual Open Mic Night of Horror run by Stephanie.  A warning – the stories are pretty scary so have Ghostbusters on speed dial.
